Name Make a Change Fund

Provider National Deaf Children’s Society

The National Deaf Children’s Society’s Make a Change Fund helps deaf young people make positive changes for their peers in schools, neighbourhoods and communities. The fund disburses grants of up to £500 to deaf young people-led projects. As well as financial support, the charity helps deaf young people with the advice, support and expertise they need to make their ideas a reality.

The fund came about as a result of the work of National Deaf Children’s Society’s Roadshow team, which delivers workshops on deaf-related topics in schools around the UK. The team noticed the huge motivation on the part of deaf young people to effect change and make a difference to the world around them. It was in response to this that Make a Change was born.
